If any other info becomes known, i'll gladly correct this statement again So - at this point i would say that you definetly cannot operate any upcoming Max version under perpetual license, so 3ds Max 2022 looks like the last version this was possible. As nobody from Autodesk or the Dealer was able to clarify this to the people who explicitly asked for definitve answers on this matter, thats my current assumption too I did not renew the perpetual contract, as i heard from other people that renewing it at this point (2021 or later), might actually switch you over to a subscription which would render your perpetual license invalid.
